Woman Puzzled by Outcome of "Clue"

TUNGSTEN, AZ – Abigail Peters is a lifetime Tungsten resident and a newcomer to the “game” of Clue. “Simon, my husband, has been an avid devotee of the game for quite a while, but I never really had the chance to sit down and play,” Abigail says, “on Friday I wanted to go out to see Planet of the Apes and he wanted to see the Spy Kids re-release and he suggested we play a game of clue to decide who gets to choose the movie.” Simon invited their son Albrecht to fill into the game to fill out the three-player minimum. The cards were distributed and the game was in full swing. “It was fun, Albrecht was Mrs. Peacock, Simon was his favorite character; Col. Mustard, and I was Prof. Plum.”

Approximately 14 minutes into the game Abigail thought she had gathered enough evidence to unmask the game’s villain, weapon of choice and the room in which Mr. Boddy was slain. Carefully guiding her gumshoe to the Billiard room she announced that the crime was committed with the lead pipe, by Professor Plum. “That’s when it hit me. I am Professor Plum! That’s when I had to ask the question, did I really win?” She posed this question to her husband, who informed her that she had indeed won, but her hawkshaw character had lost. “What does that even mean? I just don’t understand. Why would he bother to go through with this investigation? And if he has some plan to take the money and run, why did he waste all this time? I just feel so empty.”

According to Simon, Abigail suffered from the same feelings of emptiness following a game of Risk when her “far superior” army was defeated by two defending pieces during an all-out invasion of Kamchatka.
